The tools your team already knows - properly licensed, configured and supported

Consensus provides Microsoft licensing in South Africa for businesses that want the tools their team already knows, properly licensed, configured and supported. Microsoft’s suite of business applications is the backbone of most modern workplaces. From email and document creation to cloud storage, video calls and enterprise security, the Microsoft ecosystem covers virtually every aspect of how your team works day to day.

At Consensus, we take the complexity out of Microsoft licensing – helping you choose the right products, manage your subscriptions and get the most out of the tools you’re paying for. As a trusted technology partner to businesses across the North West, we combine Microsoft’s world-class software with our own local expertise and hands-on support.

Not sure which Microsoft plan is right for your business?

We’ll assess your current setup and recommend the most cost-effective licensing structure for your team size and requirements.

The right licence for your business - nothing more, nothing less

We make sure you’re covered for what you need – and not paying for what you don’t.

Microsoft 365 for business

Microsoft 365 brings together the applications your team relies on - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and more - under a single, scalable subscription. Rather than purchasing software outright, your business gets access to the latest versions automatically, with licences that grow or shrink as your headcount changes. We help you select the right Microsoft 365 plan for your business size and usage requirements, ensuring you're not overpaying for features you don't need or under-licensed for the tools your team depends on.

Microsoft Teams & collaboration tools

Remote and hybrid working has made reliable collaboration technology non-negotiable. Microsoft Teams gives your staff a single platform for messaging, video calls, file sharing and project collaboration - reducing the need for multiple disconnected tools and keeping communication centralised. We configure and deploy Teams environments that integrate with your existing infrastructure, including your phone system, printers and document management workflows.

Cloud storage & OneDrive

Storing files on local hard drives or shared servers creates risk - hardware failures, accidental deletions and security vulnerabilities. Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint give your team secure, accessible cloud storage with version control, permission management and automatic backups built in.

Windows licensing & device management

Keeping your devices properly licensed and up to date is both a legal requirement and a security necessity. We manage Windows licensing across your device fleet, ensuring every machine in your organisation is running a genuine, current version of the operating system — and that updates are applied consistently.

Why manage Microsoft licensing through Consensus?

We handle the complexity so you can focus on running your business.

One point of contact

Rather than dealing with Microsoft's licensing portals directly - which can be complex and time-consuming - you have a single local contact who manages your subscriptions, handles renewals and answers your questions.

Aligned to your wider IT environment

Our Microsoft services don't sit in isolation. We align your software licensing with your broader IT setup - including your print environment, CCTV infrastructure, PABX system and network - so everything works together and is supported by the same team.

Scalable as you grow

Whether you're adding a new branch, onboarding seasonal staff or expanding your team, we adjust your licences quickly and cost-effectively - without lengthy procurement processes or delayed access.

Ongoing support

Licensing is just the start. We help your staff get up and running on the tools they need, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and advise on new Microsoft features and updates that could benefit your business.

Microsoft licensing in South Africa: choosing the right Microsoft 365 plan

Microsoft 365 comes in several business plans, and the right one depends on what each person does, not just on headcount:

  • Business Basic covers Teams, Exchange email, OneDrive and SharePoint, with web and mobile versions of the Office apps. It suits staff who mostly work in email and shared files.
  • Business Standard adds the full desktop Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), for staff who work offline or build heavier documents and spreadsheets.
  • Business Premium adds advanced security and device management, including Microsoft Defender, on top of Standard. It suits businesses that hold client data and want devices protected and managed centrally. See our [cybersecurity services] for the wider picture.

You can mix plans within one business, so office staff, field staff and management don’t all need the same one. Putting everyone on the top plan is a common way to overspend.
